Yes, they have a really good breakfast.
The food quality is definitely not what is touted to be especially when it comes to the dumplings that they offer. They are just pieces of flavorless dough. There are many restaurants in that area that all offer "Southern cuisine" and try to pass it off as home cooking. It is not home cooking!! As many times as I have been in that area I have not found a restaurant of their that offers truly Southern cuisine cooked like My grandmother or mother Cooks. Another issue that we had at that restaurant was the person who manages it is not a friendly person at all. The only problem that we ran into was the quality of food and for customer service. When I pointed out the fact that the food was so salty it was inedible , The manager was rude and did not all for to rectify the problem at all. It was the if she took offense at me pointing out the obvious. There was several tables who had exactly the same problem. Don't waste your money on the restaurant but the produce side is great!!
Couldn't be fresher or more local. Right there.
No- we were here in Aug. 2020 and this did not come with our meal. We were offered 6 for $2 something or 12 for $4.50 or something like that. We opted to get them because hello! And it was worth it- the apple butter was delicious but fritters and cider did NOT come with our meals (Can’t say I blame them). Would have been heavenly if it did though!
We loved our lunch. I tried the catfish and was very impressed. There was only one issue. When I eat fried fish I like to drench it in lemon juice. They charge you if you ask for more than 2 lemon wedges. Apparently they do this so people don't make lemonade out of water. I get it, but I was drinking iced tea. We will return when we are back in the area.
I live locally so I'm very close to Carver's I visit there way more than I should that's for sure. But that's because they are so flipping nice and the food is so incredibly fresh and homemade. I don't think I could stay away from their chicken and dumplings if I tried. Lol when you're in the area you have to stop here. It's a fun little spot tucked away in the mountains.
Irony....I have always wanted to eat fried chicken at Paula Deens which we did on our recent trip to the Gatlinburg area. I must say the fried chicken we ate here blew Paul’s Deens out of the water !! If you want to eat absolutely tasty fried chicken 🍗 eat here and skip the big fancy places. True authentic old fashion country cooking made to order.
Great selection n great staff
Good food, however, the waitresses were a little on the cranky side which is not that impressive considering the prices. They worked fast to get us our food though. The market next door was nice.
Wonderful food, very friendly. Generous portions. Don't miss their apple fritters!
Chicken and dumplings was delicious and I had the grilled pork chops. Nice home cooked meals for a reasonable price
Been going to this place for 35 years. Never gets old, always gets better.
I've been here about 3 times. Not impressed. Servers are extremely busy and brusque. Food barely lukewarm. They stopped including the apple fritters, now you have to buy separate. Don't even think about getting their "famous" fried apple pies because they're nothing but mush, no apples at all in them. Disappointing. Atmosphere is nice as you overlook the apple orchard, but the AC was broke so management wouldn't let you raise the blinds. There's a type of farmer's market next door and a candy shop on premises that you can buy some of the old fashioned candies you had as a kid.
The food was really good. We had a party of 11 and the service was extraordinary, the food came out quick and the waitresses kept use supplied with water, coffee and soda. In all it was a very pleasant experience.
Scrumptious food. The apple fritters are amazing especially with the apple butter. I had the fried cat fish. The coleslaw wasn't anything special. The view of orchard is nice. And definitely checkout their store for cider, apples and preserves among many other things.
The cheese burgers are horrid. The pork chops are also horrid. They have absolutely no taste whatsoever. I will never go back there to eat again. This was my first time eating there.
We decided to go here for lunch when we were in the area. Little disappointed in the quality of the food. We had great service, no issues. Just was expecting more out of this establishment. It's southern based foods and I was raised on that by my grandma. Very generic and needed love.
Food was incredible, very courteous staff.Definitely check out the market, various fresh produce, apple butter many jams & jellies, salsa & much more! Oh you have to check out the candy store also
The food was great as always. The staff was awesome. Love the homestyle food. The candy store has the greatest amount of old school candy. Will be back for sure the next time we are in town!
I had club sandwich husband had the BBQ... Was the best I've had in so long... Not expensive waitress was amazing... My new favorite restaurant
I always stop here to buy apples, candy or home made apple pies. The restaurant has great food and the prices are family friendly. The staff is always nice and treat you like your family. Stop and see for yourself. Love love love it!
Always have a good selection of veggies here and there restruant has good food at reasonable prices.
Horrible experience. First, the apple fritters came out ice cold and the apple butter wasn’t sweet at all. Then, my girlfriend and I order the special, which was chicken tenders, two veggies, a drink, and dessert for $12.00. The food was not terrible, however, the dessert ended up being a flavorless brownie—We thought we’d have the choice of dessert since the sign said that the special came with a dessert. Instead the server just brought the brownie out and sat it down then walked away. When I talked to the manager I was completely polite but was meet with attitude, and the issue was not resolved.
Very cute! Fresh veggies, pies, jams, syrups. Do stop by!
This place makes THE BEST apple butter! I had their apple fritters with their apple butter and was blown away! This is a home style cooking country food. But it is hands down amazing! Rainbow trout was great! Asides were on point!
Carver's is a tradition in our house. We love the restaurant and the produce stand, the views are beautiful and staff always friendly and helpful.
Good food, friendly staff. Nice selection of produce...would be nice to have baked goods...
Carver's Orchard and Applehouse Restaurant is a wonderful place! The restaurant has good food and the orchard has different kinds of apples and other items for sale. The waitress at the restaurant was wonderful! I highly recommend Carver's Orchard and Applehouse restaurant!
Candy store out of this world. Candy that you cant find they have.
WOW, authentic homemade food that was amazing! Dumplings, fried apples, green beans! I was back at my Grandma's! Great Market, with a variety of great fresh fruits And vegetables, canned goods and more. A must go to place! Can't wait to try the fried apple pies we got!
Awesome place to visit. Best apple cider around! And the apple fritters can't be beat! The restaurant has down home food, but you're going to have a wait on the weekend, we try to go mid week. Pleasant staff. Nice view of the valley.👍
Food has always been good. Really tastes like home cooked and the best sweet tea.
Lunch was very tasty and service was very good. God bless our server and those working to serve❤ at this location, thank you
Fantastic East Tennessee food. Real slice of Americana. Great prices with generous portions.
So love this place! The jams, the fresh fruit, veggies, the jerky the candy but most of all the staff! Never come to Cosby without stopping.
Everything we ate was delicious! I had the chicken pot pie and my fiancé had the chicken and dumplings, I tasted his and loved both. I could eat the chicken pot pie every night. The quality of the good was awesome, everything tasted fresh and homemade. Our server was very friendly with a great sense of humor, and made helpful recommendations. We also visited the candy store and market which had plentiful options of local treats! A must-see in the area.
Wonderful place! The restaurant had excellent food and a great view of the orchard. The market had a lot of fresh vegetables and many other things. The kids loved the candy store as well. We will return!
Our lunch was a mixture of good and not so good. The fried chicken breast, string beans and homemade mashed potatoes were good, the pork barbecue was not so good. Plus the air conditioning was on the fritz on a 90 degree day. And the fried apple pie was not very good either. Maybe another day or a different selection would be better.
Always good produce available. Famous for their fried apple pie and cider.
Love this place. Fresh fruits and vegetables. I have been going for over 40 years. Fantastic apple butter, honey, apple cider, candy store, restaurant and much more. They have the best homemade apple pie you have ever had. It tastes like my grandmother's fried apple pies and that is saying a lot. They even have sugar free apple butter. If you have never been, please put it on your itenerary.
Best chicken & dumplings I've ever had! All of the family loved their food. The best apple butter and apple pies!
Cool place. Lots of things to buy. Lots of cool things to look at. Loved it.
Not a lot of food at all in the veggie area, noone offered help. Candy kitchen was good and the ladies were so sweet.
Received our donuts today. Every bit as good as we remember. Keep up the good work and I hope this is permanent, at least through Christmas!
This place is simply outstanding. An amazing store with great prices. The restaurant has the best food with amazing views of the mountains and apple orchards. One of my favorite places. It's the sort of place that just makes you happy to be there. Don't forget to get a fried apple pie on your way out, too!
Amazing food! Really good service.
Always Loved This Place..... Been Coming Here Since I was A Youngster. Good Ole Apple Cider, Fried Pies...... This Place Has Been Around Along Time...... Restaurant As Well, Candy Store..... God Has Blessed This Place Wonderfully.......
Great Place to stop when in the area, was a great view and great homemade food. They have a little shop which had great fresh snacks back in 2017. The owners were very kind and made this a great experience. Definitely recommend stopping here and getting a bite to eat. Great Establishment!
Best restaurant experience ever. Full stop. Fast, kind service. Our waitress Dawn went above and beyond to make the meal exceptional. The Catfish and Chicken and Dumplings were incredible. As close to perfect as you get. Highly recommend.
We stop here everytime we are in the area. Love the chicken / dumplings and the fried chicken. When apple season is in love to get the apples to take home. Beautiful scenery.
Very good neighbourhood owner restaurant with great food and excellent service. Pricing is good. Recommended!
Restaurant was hot. Not taking coronavirus precautions. Workers not wearing masks. Not spacing out customers in restaurant.
Really cool place to visit. Me and my family go there for my wife's birthday every year. We also make a few random trips here just to buy fruit and eat.
Absolutely loved this market. I grabbed some blackberry syrup, some dark honey, and the boysenberry jam to take home. Everything is very well priced and organized. We also stopped by their candy store. Although the prices are a little steeper, the candy is amazing so we didn't mind.
